Frankfurt am Main,
Originally I am from Liverpool, England. My first career was as a commodity and futures trader, manager and partner in London. After nearly 17 years of this I was emotionally burnt out and came to Germany looking for a new challenge and to learn German. Initially I spent two months doing an intensive course at the Goethe Insitute in Sachsenhausen.
I eventually became a logistics manager at the German branch of a Silicon Valley, California based dot.com company during the dot.com boom and bust.
Following this I became a teacher of business English. This was just over ten years ago. Since I began I have worked in-company at a wide variety of companies including banks, consumer groups, pharma and chemical companies, insurance, manuafacturing firms and a company that specialises in treating radioactive waste.
I have along the way acquired various qualifications including a Bachelor in Business Studies (Marketing), Life Coaching and NLP.
I became a teacher because I enjoy interacting with people, motivating and communication in general. And also to have more personal freedom.
Apart from all kinds of financial English I have a lot of experience in Marketing and Sales, HR, Logistics and Transport and Quality Control.
My interests include being President of Darmstadt Toastmasters, a club that helps develop communication and leadership skills, karate, hiking and jogging. I enjoy travel and have visited more than 30 countries.
I am very keen on personal development and that includes helping people to improve their English language skills.
