We are very excited to be holding Members Day, one of ELTAF’s signature events on Saturday, 20 September at the ISM in Frankfurt.
Members Day is YOUR day with workshops facilitated by members for members. We try to give the day a very personal feel with a lot of opportunity to network. This event is also open to other ELTA members!!

10:15 – 11:15 Workshop 1: Robert Zammit – Role-working: Enriching the Foreign Language Classroom
We’ll discover how “role-working” can bring fresh energy and depth to language teaching. This hands-on workshop will introduce dynamic role-based techniques—beyond clichéd role-play—to foster authentic communication, intercultural awareness, and learner spontaneity.

11:45 – 12:45 Workshop 2: Ridha Mejri – What will we do when AI does (almost) everything?
As AI tools increasingly handle tasks like content generation, grading and even personalized feedback, teachers face a fundamental question: What is our role? This interactive workshop will explore how teachers can redefine their professional identity in the age of AI. The session aims to empower teachers to remain relevant—not by doing what AI does, but by focusing on what only humans can: mentoring, inspiring and fostering meaningful learning experiences.

13:45 – 14:45 Workshop 3: Emma Gledhill-Schmitt – AI in Tertiary Education, Testing and Assessment
Emma will be leading a discussion and knowledge sharing session on the impact of AI in tertiary education and our experiences working with it.
14:45 Japanese cakes, Sekt, networking, raffle, “treasure table” of books & teaching materials to give away and idea swap shop (Now is your chance to ask your ELTAF colleagues any teaching related question! Please be prepared to share your question on the day.)
